Glossary of game metrics
RTP (Return to Player). The long-term theoretical percentage of total wagered money returned to players. The default top configuration here is 96.51%, although alternate operator builds exist at 95.56% and 94.48%, as documented by FruitySlots review audits. Worked example: at 96.51%, every £100 wagered collectively across long-run play projects a theoretical return of £96.51, with £3.49 retained as house edge. Scaled down, every £5 staked returns roughly £4.83 on average across an extended sample.
High volatility. A metric showing that wins are distributed unevenly over time. Rated 5/5, the game pays fewer meaningful wins on average and balances them with rare payout spikes in the bonus round. In practice: long loss streaks between features, then occasional high-value sequences.
Hit frequency. The ratio of winning spins to total spins. Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter records roughly 42.92%, so about 4 in 10 spins return something, though many returns are smaller than the spin cost. «OLBG, StopandStep and AboutSlots independently record a hit frequency of 42.91% to 42.92%: about 4 spins in 10 pay, but most pay less than the stake.» OLBG / StopandStep / AboutSlots technical reviews (2025). https://www.aboutslots.com One competing review circulates a figure of 10% to 20%; that contradicts every audited dataset and should be disregarded.
Max win. The hard ceiling on total payouts for a single spin sequence, capped at 50,000x the wager. Once accumulated wins reach the cap, the round terminates. At the £0.20 minimum that equals £10,000; at a £5 UK cap it equals £250,000.
Max win probability. The odds of hitting the 50,000x cap, calculated by Pragmatic Play at approximately 1 in 833,333,333 spins.
1,000x+ win odds. The frequency of a single sequence paying 1,000x the stake or more sits at roughly 1 in 500,000 spins on average.
Betting range. The span between minimum and maximum stake per spin, set jointly by provider and operator. Here it starts at £0.20, with UK caps commonly at £2.50 or £5 per spin.
Total win. The accumulated sum of the initial pay-anywhere win, every subsequent tumble payout, any scatter or Super Scatter instant prize, and any multipliers applied within the same paid round.
